When your own proxy node goes down, a second subscription in Clash or v2rayN keeps you connected.
A backup subscription takes only a few minutes to set up and saves you from losing access during outages, maintenance windows or sudden network blocks. Below are the steps for the two most popular clients.
Setting up a backup subscription in Clash
Clash: add the backup subscription URL under proxy-providers, create a url-test or fallback proxy group containing your main node and the backup, and Clash will switch automatically when the main node fails.
Setting up a backup subscription in v2rayN
v2rayN: open Subscription > Subscription settings > Add, paste the URL, update the subscription, run a latency test and keep the fastest node as your fallback.
